Honoring a Mary Bridge Children’s anniversary
Elijah, 11, knows what it’s like to spend December in a hospital room. In 2021, he struggled to eat at Thanksgiving, and his mom ended up driving him nearly one and a half hours to MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Emergency Department. There, Elijah was diagnosed with a ruptured appendix and went into surgery.
Recovery took 20 days. During that uncertain time, he found comfort in his care team, especially the donor-powered Child Life Services department.
Now every fall, Elijah organizes a toy drive to give back to the children’s hospital that cared for him. Read his full story.
You can meet Elijah at Mary Bridge Children’s Festival of Trees Tinsel on the Town event on Friday, December 6. Learn more about the South Sound’s happiest holiday celebration using the button below.
Because of your support, Mary Bridge Children's is one of the nation's leading children's hospitals.

The Helping Hands fund removes barriers that can prevent a patient from healing or a family from supporting their child. Funds purchase gas cards for transportation to and from appointments, prescriptions, meal vouchers and basic needs assistance.
Pediatric Cancer Care
Your contributions help cancer patients receive the best care and treatment, including access to cancer research and clinical trials, as well as direct aid for basic needs.
Child Life Services
For more than 40 years, the Mary Bridge Children’s Child Life Services team has been helping children and families feel as safe and comfortable as possible during even the most challenging health care experiences.
Children's Therapy Unit
With your support, the Mary Bridge Good Samaritan Children’s Therapy Unit helps children with special needs reach their full potential through therapies and adaptive equipment, regardless of insurance limitations.
